Ice Cream Social and Drum Circle

Friday night was so much fun! Our Family Fun Night activity this month was an ice cream social, which happened to be scheduled the night of 10 Billion Beats. Since it was a cool and misty night, the drummers met in the sanctuary while we met in the Inez Alsop room. What a fun pairing!  Throughout the night we popped our heads in – and picked up drums or shakers of various forms to join in the fun. At one point, Kaia was helping create the beat at the center drum – so cool! The drummers were so nice to include us in their celebration. The kids and adults had a blast participating.

In the Inez Alsop room, we had ice cream sundaes with Call Hall ice cream and played ping-pong. The kids created beautiful sundaes. Lots of marshmallows and chocolate sauce! Our ping-pong playing was not as beautiful – I think we chased the ball more than rallied, but we were getting better by the end of the night!

After the ice cream, the kids played together while the adults met to discuss the curriculum for the year. I shared a rough draft of the brochure I made for visiting/new families. If you were unable to attend on Friday and would like to take a look, let me know!
