Ecuador!

On Sunday Jessica Long took everyone on a trip to Ecuador (where she counted hummingbirds while in college). We learned there are many many species of hummingbirds. When she was there, her job was to catch birds in a huge net and tag and then release them. Hummingbirds were often too smart to be caught because they would fly backwards, out of the net! She also showed us how to make a special playdough out of bread and glue and everyone got to sculpt their own project. In the end we were all treated to a dessert potluck in honor of Jonalu’s first service. Yum. Many thanks to Jessica and to everyone who brought treats.
