As we remember those who have died in service to the nation, we also wonder whether we will always resort to war. Our nation struggles around how to balance diplomacy with self-defense. Even in our personal lives, we find it hard to know how to proceed when we come to a place of conflict. No one wants to give in and look weak. Nor do we want to escalate a problem so that violence becomes inevitable Are there different ways to navigate our responses to challenges from others? Can we bring creativity to nonviolence?
