Date/Time Event
9:30 am -10:30 am Themes in UU History and Theology -- Universalism   UUFM, Manhattan KS

Universalism started as the idea of universal salvation, centered on a loving God.  From one of the most popular denominations of the late nineteenth century, Universalism declined under the weight of its success.  Morphing into an idea of “universal religion,” the Universalist Church of America merged with the American Unitarian Association in the middle of the twentieth century.   All are invited to attend.  Learn more from Jonalu Johnstone at revjonalu@uufm.net.

10:45 am -12:00 pm Sunday Service   UUFM, Manhattan KS

The Beauty of What Is

Rev Jonalu Johnstone presents this service.  So often, we limit our idea of beauty to what is symmetrical, what is immediately pleasing, what is close to perfection.  What if we could find the beauty in what is, even when it is imperfect and transient?  We might learn something from the Japanese concept of “wabi sabi.”  Perhaps, then, we could learn how beauty really is more than skin deep.  Our convener is Les Loschky at loschky@gmail.com

12:15 pm -1:45 pm Path to Membership   UUFM, Manhattan KS

We’ll offer a shortened version of our Path to Membership class, focused entirely on membership, its rights and responsibilities, and how to get involved with the fellowship.  If you’re ready to join, or just curious about membership, please attend.  The Membership Committee will provide snacks.  Please let us know if you’ll need childcare during class.  Learn more from Jonalu, at revjonalu@uufm.net.
