Ethical Eating

Christopher Renner, Carol Barta, and Elaine Mohr explore the Slow Food movement.  As part of the Unitarian Universalist dedication to environmental justice, we pay attention to the impact of our involvement in the food system.  Ethical eating recognizes the moral consequences of our food choices.   How we raise, buy, and consume our food has direct effects on the earth, plants and animals, and humans who work to make our food available.  We’ll look at how the Slow Food movement, and choosing to eat locally mirrors the UU commitment to environmental justice.  Slow Food works to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and encourages farming of plants, seeds, and livestock characteristic of the local ecosystem.  Convener is Christopher Renner at renner1974@gmail.com.
