Wear Orange Day will brighten the skies above cities across America on the weekend of June 2 to commemorate the victims of gun violence.  From www.wearorange.org“Orange Is the color that Hadlya Pendleton’s friends wore in her honor when she was shot and killed in Chicago at the age of fifteen, just one week after she performed at President Obama’s 2nd inaugural parade in 2013.   After her death, they asked us to stand up, speak out, and Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence.”

Manhattan Area Moms Demand Action intends to provide a youth a platform to stand up and speak out against gun violence at a local Wear Orange Event on:

Saturday, June 8th from 8-9PM at the Riley County Courthouse Plaza.

  • There will be Child Safety tables – information about how to prevent gun injuries and deaths in homes where there are guns.
  • A show with local youth presenting about the impact of gun violence
  • The Mayor’s Proclamation
  • And an illumination of the courthouse in orange

Please join us for this event.
