Tour Inside Our Body

Jen Thomsen shared a book about our bodies and then we got to listen to our hearts! Wow, our bodies are loud!

Then we exercised…

Tour up Mount Whitney

Clara and Mark Mayfield took us on a tour up Mount Whitney. We watched a video and looked at pictures while we snacked on homemade trail mix.

Tour of our own Creativity

Cathy taught us a wonderful mantra for creative thinking: “If I don’t make it, it might never exist!”

Tour of the Eukaryotic Cell

Taryn had us coloring, viewing a video, and squishing up blueberries so we could extract blueberry DNA. It worked! Handy vials were given to everyone so we could carry around our blueberry DNA in our pockets.

Tour of Print Making

Katie, Lindsay, and Ruby took us on a glorious tour of print making. After assembling our paint pallet (seen in the picture below), we ventured outside to find some items with interesting textures so we could make our prints.

Tour of China

Elke Lorenz took us on a wonderful tour of China.  We learned about children in China who are just like us.

Patagonia, Chile, and Empanadas!

Many thanks to Susan Adamchak for taking us all on a trip to the Patagonia region of Chile. It was especially fun to start the lesson by making empanadas! They were extra delicious and we made enough to share with everyone.
