What’s Happening in RE August 2023

How will we be renewed in this moment?
How will we be changed by this hour?
How will we be transformed through this gathering of beloved community?

In August we are on a threshold: celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of the school year. Please join us a we say goodbye to summer, but hello to new adventures.

These hands are some of the oldest illustrations in the world.

AUGUST 6: TOUR OF ART
Join us for shared worship (with the Mennonites and Congregationalists) and a fun RE class as Dick Beeman takes us all on an International Tour of Art. We’ll be experimenting with paint ourselves so, if it matters to you, be sure to wear clothes that are washable.

AUGUST 13: SHOW AND TELL

Bring a trinket from your summer adventures and tell us all about the trinket and the adventure. (I baked a lot this summer so I’ll be bringing cookies.)

AUGUST 20: BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS

With the new school year upon us we invite you to bring your backpack, briefcase, purse, fanny pack, saddlebag, etc, to be blessed for the year ahead. Whether a student in school or a student of life, this is an opportunity to freshen up and set intentions.

We’ll have a special tag to adorn your bag as a reminder of your UUFM family. If you can’t make it in person just let me know and I’ll mail your special tag.

AUGUST 27: MAKING PLANS

As the school year begins, routines restart and refresh. Let’s restart together and make plans for the coming year. This year we’re talking about “a big project.” What could it be? Collecting canned goods? Fundraising for the fellowship? Fundraising for another cause? Let’s think big, together. Bring all your ideas.
