What’s Happening in RE February 2024

The theme of February is The Gifts of Justice and Equity.

Among our month-long explorations we’ll include discussions on…

* the differences between the words “equity” and “justice”

* how justice and equity relate to our personal relationships

* how we build a better world so that justice and equity are a part of society.

* how justice and equity can move us to Beloved Community

All this will be interspersed with a variety of interesting, hands-on projects like print-making, paper-making, and Valentine crafting; and a lunar new year celebration (it’s the year of the dragon!).

SOUPer BOWL – FEB. 11 (and all month)

Our young folk are actively collecting non-perishable food items for our SOUPer Bowl – February 11.  Bring your items to the fellowship and place them in the bins in the narthex. Do you need items picked up from your home? Please let me know so I can coordinate with our students. The SOUPer Bowl collection will help us keep the Blessing Box stocked.

KID NIGHT – FRIDAY, FEB. 16 – FREE – FRIENDS WELCOME

6:00 – 9:00 p.m. (4 yr – 12 yr olds)

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for good weather so the main event can be a campfire in the back yard of the fellowship. We’ll build and light the fire, then roast hot dogs for supper. We’ll tell stories, learn songs, and make room for S’mores or hand pies.

We may have a wood project with Dan (birdhouses?) or we may just play tag, sardines, and capture the flag (all requested by the kids).

RSVP to DRE@uufm.net no later than WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14.

See you soon,

Sandy Nelsondre@uufm.net
