10/04/2026 INTERGENERATIONAL SUNDAY SERVICE: THE WEAVING PLACE

We’re kicking off October with an intergenerational, collaborative art Sunday Service from the Woven Faith curriculum. Director of Religious Education, Emily, will guide us using a wisdom story through a shared paper weaving activity that reflects on what it means to practice interdependence in community: what we bring, what we carry, what we need, what we offer, and what we commit to one another.  

The Nursery will be open, but kids that would normally head back to the Jupiter room for an RE session are, instead, invited to share in this whole church experience in the Sanctuary. 

 

10/17/2026 WHOLE CHURCH RE SEASONAL EVENT: TRUNK OR TREAT

The RE Team is excited to host our annual All Ages Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 17th from 2-4pm! This event will be advertised both internally and to the larger Manhattan community. Feel free to bring friends!

We invite UUFM folks to engage and share their creativity by creating their own decorated trunk (or table in case of rain) with candy or other items for trick or treaters, or to bring other kinds of activities to the event. Some ideas are a Tarot Reading Table, sharing a fall ritual that you or your family do this time of year, a game, etc.

The RE Team will be providing at least 3 themed trunks and candy, some door prizes, small pumpkins and pumpkin painting supplies, themed coloring pages and stickers, some halloween themed carnival games, and some snacks.

If you’re more interested in supporting the things already in motion than adding something new to the festivities, we could use some volunteers to man the painting and craft tables, game stations, and to help with set up and take down.

WE’RE HIRING!

We’re expanding our team providing Sunday Nursery coverage and occasional other childcare here at UUFM! The RE Team has written up a job description for what we are now calling the Children’s Program Assistant, and we are in the process of advertising the position. We aim to hire two additional people to the team that will share responsibility for nursery coverage, with the intention of having our budgeted and preferred ratio of two people working the nursery each Sunday.
