On this day, Christians celebrate Pentecost and Jews celebrate Shavuot. Both festivals focus on the movement of spirit. Spirit can be a hard word to pin down. Often, the images awakened are of movement, such as of wind and water. As UUs, we may have leftover negative interpretations of spirit, fearing being carried away by irrational emotion. Is there a role for the movement of the spirit in Unitarian Universalism? What would that be? And how would it affect our individual practices and beliefs? Our convener is Elke Lorenz.
