August 2017

UU WORLD TRAVELERS IS HERE!
During our summer program all students meet together for class where guest “tour guides” from within the congregation lead students on all kinds of adventures. Our June tours have been wide ranging: Disc Golf, International Space Station, and Canoeing.

Here’s our August Schedule:
August 6: Tour of Italy  (Katie Kingery-Page)
August 13: Tour of the Wooly Bee Farm (The Campbell Family) – This is an actual trip and requires permission forms and carpooling. We’ll leave the fellowship about 11:00 (just after the story for all ages) and not return. Instead, we’ll carpool students home by about 1:00 p.m. There will also be activities at the fellowship for any students who choose not to travel to the Campbell’s farm (in Wamego).
August 20: Tour of Essential Oils (Enell Foerster)
August 27: Lake District of England (Jonalu Johnstone)

FAMILY FUN – Saturday, August 12
Summer heat continues in August so everyone – young and old alike – is invited to swim for free at the City Park pool. Meet at the front entrance at 2:00 p.m. I’ll be there to pay your way in.

THIRD SUNDAY TEEN LUNCH – Sunday, August 20
Teens (7th grade and up) are invited to gather for lunch (usually pizza) after the service.

PARENT NIGHT OUT is taking a break for the summer. We’ll start back up in October.
