Finding Our Center, Starting with Vision
We are starting the year on Sunday, January 1, with personal visioning. (You can see the service information here.) We’ll spend some time on the following questions: What do you want more of in your life, and what do you want less of? What is your ultimate goal, how are you rooted in your values, and what are the special gifts you bring to the world? Given your answers to these questions, what are your audacious goals for the next year — or the rest of your life — and what are the bite-sized actions you can take in the short-term to move that direction?
This process is inherently valuable because each of us is a creative powerful force in the world. When we pause to reflect, dream, and plan, we find our center so that we can stay grounded as we grow.
This process is also in service of the collaborative process the Fellowship is undergoing to enhance our shared vision. The more passionately aware and engaged we are in our personal vision, the more clarity we’ll bring to our shared life. We are finding our center as a community through listening to each person’s gifts and dreams and hearing, in their words, a piece of our our own longing.
So, after you reflect on your own vision for 2023, check out the brainstorming we’ve started at the Fellowship, at https://uufm.net/visioning-circles/. These notes are from our November 13th Brownbag Visioning Circle, which was a joyous gathering. Whether you were there or not, I’m sure you will feel the glow of the gathering — and I hope you’ll be inspired to engage with some bite-sized collaborative actions.
With love and a spark of fun,
Pastor Isa
