AUGUST IS HERE!!!  

	Saturday, August 3, 9:00 am – 11:00 am CLASSROOM CLEANING PARTY We’re sprucing up the classrooms! We cleaned the rugs and now we’re tackling all that stuff on the shelves and in the drawers and cupboards. EVERYONE is invited to help sort, toss, and organize!
	Sunday, August 4 – First Sunday of the month is DONUT DAY.  We’ll have conversation about our summer adventures along with getting input about our BIG IDEA for the year.
	Friday, August 9, 9:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Weather permitting. Rain date Sat. Aug 10) PERSEID’S METEOR SHOWER WATCH PARTY We’ll gather in the lower parking lot at UUFM. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets and perhaps a treat to share. We’ll lay back and let the skies amaze us.
	Sunday, August 11 – School is just around the corner so today we’ll have the BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS. Also, Sandy’s retirement is just around the corner so we’re going to stick a few farewell notes in her backpack. Be sure to stay for the potluck after the service and offer feedback about the RE Program.
	Sunday, August 11, 12:00-12:30 pm POTLUCK & FEEDBACK SESSION There’s a potluck after the service on the 11th so we’re piggybacking on that with an opportunity for families to give feedback about programming for the coming year. Please grab a plate of food and then join us in the Jupiter room for a quick visit.
	Friday, August 16, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm SUMMER KID NIGHT! S’mores, games, craft, popcorn and a movie (IF rated PG).  Kid Night (Parent Night Out) is for children from 3-12 years old who can toilet on their own with minimal assistance. We’ll eat pizza, watch a movie, have some snacks, play some games, and get messy with an art project. Voluntary contributions help cover expenses. REMINDER: THIS IS AN RSVP EVENT AND SPACE IS LIMITED. Please RSVP to Sandy (dre@uufm.net) no later than Wednesday, August 14.
	Saturday, August 17, 9:00 – 11:00 am RE TEAM MEETING We’ll be putting final touches on plans for the fall semester. If you are interested in joining the team, please reach out to Sandy at dre@uufm.net for more information.
	Sunday, August 18 – UUFM RE is the definition of Heaven on Earth! Where else can you see your friends, snack in the classroom, learn cool stuff, and then climb up an awesome hill!!
	Sunday, August 25 – Come say goodbye to Sandy one last time.

It’s August and my retirement as Director of Religious Education is just around the corner. If you missed my “farewell” letter, you can read it here. My official last day is August 31, but I think we’ll be partying all month (in a good way).
