Where Do We Go From Here?  The Poor People’s Campaign Past and Present”

Rev Jonalu Johnstone speaks. Martin Luther King, Jr, shortly before his assassination, was planning a Poor People’s Campaign, to draw attention to the suffering of people and to declare the connections among systemic racism, poverty, and militarization. The campaign happened even without Dr King, yet the issues remain. Only by thinking through the connectedness of issues that confront us can we address them with intention. Today’s Poor People’s Campaign confronts the same issues, with the addition of exploitation of the Earth.
