Memorial Day is far more than a marking of the beginning of summer.  Our celebration of Memorial Day considers how we as UU’s give meaning to losses inevitable in armed conflict.  Honoring lives lost has implications for how we prevent the loss of life and how we defend our freedom.  Though UUism has not traditionally been a peace church, we have often raised questions about the use of force in foreign lands.  What are the consequences of war and how do we channel them into peace, respecting those who have gone before?  Conveners are Steffan McBee, at steffan.mcbee@gmail.com, and Kelly Richardson-McBee at richardson.kelly.a@gmail.com.
