Michelle Alexander’s book, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, calls Americans to examine how “we have not ended racial caste in America, we have … redesigned it” through our criminal justice system. Join us as we read this powerful work. We’ll meet on Wednesdays, March 12 and 26, and April 2 and 9, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Jane Pelletier and Michael Nelson facilitate. A few copies of the book are available at the Manhattan Public Library, or it can be purchased online.
