Martin Luther King, Jr., wrote “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” in response to a public letter from white clergy asking black activists to wait and give them more time to reach equality, instead of demanding their rights through civil disobedience. The letter invites us to consider our own commitment to what’s right in today’s social and political context. Our convener is Jessica Sievers.
