Each Saturday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. we gather at the K-State Intramural Fields (corner of Denison and Kimball). The fields provide a lovely opportunity for kids to run off energy, fly kites, or explore for bugs while maintaining good distance. Extremely good distance! Bring your own lawn chair and a cool beverage, and enjoy the company of others while staying safe.
August is Build It month!
Knowing how to hammer a nail into a piece of wood (and pull it out!) is a great skill. Hammers, nails, and scrap wood were given to the kids last weekend and it was great fun to watch them create. Many thanks to Dan Swenson who provided all the materials and made the samples in the first image.
We were also treated to a visit from Dick Beeman (thanks!) who brought show and tell. The previous weekend he brought his caterpillars (left picture) but this time he brought them in their cocoons! See a video of the caterpillars here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16dsADvmhoiRaqJDtbJq2l7n_OgeyQFuY/view?usp=sharing
I hope you’ll join us on a Saturday. (Several adults without children have joined us.) Let me know if you’ve got questions.
