As recently announced, this month marks a time of retrospection, appreciation, transition and renewal for the UUFM Religious Education program. Our long-time RE director, Sandy Nelson, retires on August 31, after concluding that 22 years and more than 1000 Sundays were enough. If Sandy’s plan was to exit the stage in her prime with the crowd clamoring for more, she has succeeded fabulously! Sandy is working with the RE Team and with the Board to ensure a smooth transition to a new director.
August also marks the belated certification of our new Chair-elect, Mac Benavides. Be sure to attend a brief Congregational Meeting in person or via zoom on August 18, immediately following the Sunday service, when we will officially vote Mac into office.
Pastor Isa’s status as our permanent, full-time, solo, installed minister is now even more official. Her 2024-2025 employment contract (also referred to as a ministerial letter-of-agreement) has been written, approved, signed, sealed and delivered.
Wishing you a great rest-of-the-summer,
Dick Beeman
Board Chair
