Mac Benavides was enthusiastically voted in as Board Chair-Elect, in the (precedent-setting?) shortest UUFM Congregational Meeting in recorded history. The Board formed and empowered a search committee to hire an interim Coordinator of Religious Education to fill shorter-term RE needs and provide breathing room for a systematic and deliberative process of soliciting input from stakeholders and developing a vision of the future of UUFM RE.  This, in turn will enable a meaningful and well-considered update of the position description for a permanent Director of Religious Education to replace Sandy.  The search team for the interim position consists of Emily Fraser, Christie Launius, Molly McGaughey and Pastor Isa.  Please see one of them for more information, to apply or to recommend a potential applicant, or to otherwise suggest ways to broaden the search net.  The Board held its annual retreat on Sept. 7, and had a productive discussion about goals for the rest of the fiscal year.  These will be finalized at the October meeting. Finally, we all wish Pastor Isa a continued rapid and full recovery from surgery, and are happy to have just welcomed her back into the pulpit.
