Australia

G’day Mates! Brice and Shirley Hobrock took everyone to Australia today.  Students were introduced to kangaroos, koalas, and an Aborigine friend. They got to sample the local cuisine as well: vegemite plus crocodile and kangaroo meat (or maybe it was beef jerky and chicken jerky – wink).

Sea Slugs

And we’re off. Our World Travelers packed their suitcases with a variety of essentials (they created a very thorough list) including: video games, a book, passport, clothes, snacks, sunscreen, floppy hat, and more. One More Step was written by UU songwriter and singer Joyce Poley.  People marching … Continue reading Musicale/Welcome Home

Brick Oven Pizza!

Oh wow. What a great lesson we had on outdoor, brick ovens. Did you know that the oven at the home of Matt & Jen Campbell can reach 1000 degrees Fahrenheit? THAT’s hot! A stopwatch confirmed that a pizza cooked in under 2 minutes. Everyone got to make their own pizza for lunch – which … Continue reading Brick Oven Pizza!

The Ocean

On Sunday we took a visit to the ocean while we listened to the sounds of waves lapping up against the beach (courtesy of YouTube). Then we created some outstanding ocean life of our own with inspiration from our Cousteau Kids magazine subscription (courtesy of Sandy Chastan). You can view our creations below. Click on … Continue reading The Ocean
