Humans are storied beings. Our stories tell us who we are, what we believe, where we came from and where we are going. The Rev. Tom Emanuel, a UCC theologian and researcher at the University of Glasgow, explores how beloved narratives help us craft identity, community, and meaning in the changing social and spiritual landscape of the 21st century (especially The Lord of the Rings). His reflection invites us to ask: what stories can we tell to help us weather the political and ecological crises that are already on the horizon?
