Join us for a contemplative gathering of music and reflection indoors and a campfire and carols outdoors. Inside we’ll have music and story playing over the speakers. You may sit and listen or move around the space looking at three beautiful altars – this is a quiet introspective space. If you’d like to talk or celebrate, head outside (weather permitting), where we’ll have a campfire, carols, and cider. * Christmas Eve this year is a drop-in gathering: you may come anytime between 7 and 9pm and stay for as long as you wish.
You may want to bring:
- Objects for the altars in the sanctuary (see below)
- A cup for cider (outdoors)
- Flashlights for reading carols around the campfire
Here is a description of the altars indoors:
Traditions Table
This table holds nativity scenes and other items signifying the season. You are welcome to bring an item from your own home to add to the altar, and then take it home at the end of the night. If you’d like, bring a brief written explanation of the item’s significance. This can be a story from your own experience or knowledge or wisdom from others.
Admire Table
This table holds items that hold special significance for individuals in this Fellowship. Appreciate them with your eyes. If you’re bringing an object for people to admire, you may write up a few sentences on a piece of paper to display next to the object.
Takeaway table
This table holds items meant to be shared—examined, touched, smelled. You may bring something to giveaway and place it on this table. If so moved, tell the story of your gift. Then choose another that speaks to you. Take it home to get to know it. When you have absorbed its lesson, return it to the Earth or pass it on to another person who might appreciate it.
* Masks are required in the building and while singing (even if outdoors). Learn more from Pastor Isa at pastor@uufm.net.
The Fellowship building is now open, and you may choose to attend services in person. For those joining us at the Fellowship, masks are required for everyone older than 4, regardless of vaccination status.
We also continue to offer a virtual option, for those who prefer to join us remotely, at our usual Sunday morning service URL, https://zoom.us/j/92604313401?pwd=OXlyeW1RQ0I4U1cxQ1FpU0x2TlZqdz09, at 10:30 am. The meeting ID is 926 0431 3401 and the password is zeandale.
